Between Worlds

“Not Alone” Original painting

Original painting by Alona Petliarska

“She carries the rooster like a secret. Fierce and golden and entirely hers.”

A woman holds a magnificent rooster against a blazing red ground, gold leaf circles spinning around them both. The rooster in Slavic folk tradition is a symbol of dawn, protection, and the boundary between worlds. This woman holds hers like a companion, a familiar, an extension of her own wild energy. Painted in watercolour and gold leaf.
