In mythology, ravens are messengers between worlds — between the living and the dead, between the known and the unknown. In this painting they circle her not with menace but with recognition. She is one of them. The white hair, the red lips, the tears that may be grief or may be release — this is a woman who has stopped pretending. She has chosen the dark duet over the performance of light. Painted in watercolour, acrylic and colour pencil, the pink and purple palette holds softness and wildness in the same breath.
