You get in touch and tell me what you have in mind — a subject, a feeling, a reference, or just the story. I reply within 2–3 working days with questions and a quote.

Concept

I share a rough compositional sketch for your approval. We refine the idea together until we are both fully aligned.

Deposit

A 30% deposit secures your slot. This is when the work officially begins.

Making — 4–10 weeks

I paint. I share progress photographs at key stages so you can see the work developing. You can give feedback at any point.

Final approval

I share final high-resolution photographs. Nothing ships until you are entirely happy. I make minor adjustments if needed. Balance payment on approval.

Delivery

I pack the work professionally, fully insured, and ship with a tracking number. Worldwide. Shipping is included in the commission price for most destinations.

How do I get started?

What subjects can I commission?
I take portraits (human or animal), mythological and folklore subjects, landscape and place, personal narratives, and hybrid mythic-figurative compositions. If you have a clear vision, bring it. If you have only a feeling, that is enough — the conversation shapes the concept.
How is the price determined?
Commissions start from £2,000. The final price depends on the dimensions of the canvas, the medium (oil, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media), and the complexity of the composition. All prices are quoted in GBP and include the Certificate of Authenticity, studio photography, and worldwide shipping.
Do I get to approve the work before it ships?
Yes. I share final high-resolution photographs before any balance payment is made. I will make minor adjustments if needed. The painting does not leave my studio until you are entirely happy with it.
Does the commission come with a Certificate of Authenticity?
Every commission — like every original work sold through this site — comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. It documents the title, medium, dimensions, date of creation, and my signature. It is your assurance of provenance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, I ship worldwide from Scotland. All works are professionally packed, fully insured in transit, and sent with a tracking number. Shipping is included in the commission price for most destinations.
Can I commission a painting as a gift?
Absolutely — gifted commissions are some of the most meaningful I receive. I can coordinate shipping directly to the recipient and include a handwritten note on your behalf. Just let me know at the enquiry stage and I will make sure everything is right for the occasion.
